How do I keep my e cigarette safe? What a broad and in general question. When a fellow Vaper asks me for advice I always wonder what they could specifically mean by that. Do they want me to tell them the secret of how to Keep Your E Cigarette Safe from shattering into a thousand pieces? Are they asking for a model that comes with the best safety features technology has to offer? Or do they simply want tips on how to give their e cigarette a long everlasting life?

Perhaps it’s all three… which can really make a simple conversation turn into a long strenuous debate.

Your e cigarettes life is in your hands and how well it performs is solely based on how you treat it. Now let’s just be clear: Of course you can’t do anything about things that are not in your control, such as you accidently purchasing and receiving a DOA battery or your clearomizer’s coil being a dud.

When it comes to protecting your beloved e cigarette… it’s the little things really.

Here’s How To Keep Your E Cigarette Safe

Here are the three most basic steps, I found, to ensure a well working electronic cigarette:

First: Never over charge your battery! Now this is one of the more controversial subjects in the community, as some believe that over charging doesn’t affect your battery. While others (like me) believe that even when the battery is fully charged, a trickle charge can still run currents through the battery. Regardless of someone’s opinion, you should never over charge any electronic as it can damage the battery and cause your e cigarette to malfunction. Also never leave your battery unattended while charging, just to be on the safe side.

Second: Consider where to store your e cigarette for safe keeping. Where you decide to keep it should be in a dry, room temperature environment. You can’t leave it in the sun or anywhere that can get considerably hot (like cars). Your e cigarette cannot be your ‘hang loose’ buddy and go surfing with you, so combining swimming and vaping is probably not the best idea either.

And finally third: When not in use, turn your battery off. Easy: right? And yet a lot of us forget to do it. Turning your battery off allows for peace of mind, knowing that your e cigarette isn’t pressing on something and heating itself up, especially if a clearomizer is attached to it. So, ladies, don’t put your e- cig in your purse without turning off your battery.

But that’s just for when you’re away from your e cigarette… what about when it’s actually on you?

Helpful Accessories To Keep Your E Cigarette Safe

Usually e cigarette kits come with a case or some type of lanyard, and for good reason. Think about your cell phone… A majority of the population puts a case on their cell phone to protect it from shattering or becoming damaged. Well the same thing applies to your e cigarette. Keeping your e cigarette in a case will give you a safe storage area when traveling around. That way in case your case drops your e cigarette will have enough padding inside to preserve it.

Lanyards are also a great way to keep your e cigarette close to you in a secured manor. My favorite type is the ‘pocket’ lanyard. It’s basically a necklace with a sleeve on it, that encloses around your e cigarette, that way it’s protected from all sides… and you have easy access to a quick vape.

These two methods are a great way to guard your e cigarette. In my long time of vaping I have seen many a colleague and friend put their e cigarette in their back pocket… only to sit on it and snap it in half. Or seeing them place it ever so gently on the table and then watching it slowly roll off the table and crashing to the floor.
